India and US Set $500 Billion Bilateral Trade Target by 2030: PM Modi in Joint Press Conference with Trump

In a significant move to strengthen economic ties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India and the United States have set a target of reaching $500 billion in bilateral trade by the year 2030. This statement was made during a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump, highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India and the United States are working together to enhance trade relations, particularly in sectors like oil and gas, technology transfer, and joint production. He stated that increasing energy trade between the two countries would significantly contribute to India’s energy security. Modi acknowledged President Trump’s vision of “Make America Great Again” (MAGA), which has been a defining slogan of his leadership. Drawing a parallel, he mentioned that India is progressing with the ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He coined a new slogan, “Make India Great Again” (MIGA), symbolizing India’s commitment to achieving economic and infrastructural development. He further added, “When India and America collaborate, MAGA and MIGA together will create a ‘Mega Partnership’ for global prosperity.”

During Modi’s visit to the White House, President Trump warmly welcomed him with a hug and expressed his enthusiasm for continued collaboration. Trump stated, “We missed you a lot,” underscoring the close relationship between the two leaders.
