Pakistan: PTI Leader Sanam Javed Abducted in Broad Daylight in Peshawar, Law and Order Questions Raised

In a shocking incident in Peshawar, Pakistan, a female leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party was abducted in broad daylight from a crowded area, sparking widespread concern over the law and order situation in the city. The abducted leader has been identified as Sanam Javed, a prominent member of PTI’s social media team. The incident took place on a busy road in Peshawar’s Red Zone area at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Monday.

According to PTI’s Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram, two vehicles intercepted Sanam Javed’s car, forcibly dragged her out in front of her companions, and sped away with her. Akram condemned the act, calling it part of a deliberate campaign to harass PTI leaders and workers.

Police confirmed that five men were allegedly involved in stopping Javed’s vehicle and abducting her. An FIR (First Information Report) was lodged at Peshawar East Cantonment Police Station based on a complaint from one of Javed’s friends. In response to the alarming event, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has ordered a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances of the kidnapping and ensure the victim’s safety.

The PTI has described the incident as a serious violation of law and order, raising urgent questions about security in the city. Party leaders and supporters have expressed outrage on social media, demanding immediate action and the arrest of those responsible. Many called on Chief Minister Gandapur to personally intervene to guarantee Sanam Javed’s safe return and bring the perpetrators to justice.

This incident has intensified scrutiny of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with critics questioning the administration’s ability to maintain public safety. PTI leaders emphasized that such attacks on party members are unacceptable and must be addressed swiftly to prevent further threats to political figures and citizens alike.
