Maitreyi College Internship 2025: The recently established Vidushi Arundhati Centre for Indian Traditions of Knowledge at Maitreyi College, University of Delhi, has received an overwhelming response to its inaugural student internship program. As of now, more than 250 female students have registered to participate in the program, scheduled to run from January to June 2026.

According to college officials, the large number of registrations reflects the students’ growing enthusiasm and academic curiosity toward exploring India’s ancient traditions of knowledge, culture, and science. This internship marks a significant step in promoting research-based experiential learning focused on the Indic knowledge system.

An Initiative Under Academic Leadership

This unique internship program is being conducted under the leadership and guidance of Prof. Haritma Chopra, Principal, Maitreyi College, and with the active support of Prof. Jyoti Singh, Vice Principal. The program aims to bridge the gap between traditional Indian wisdom and modern academic study by engaging young women in research, documentation, and creative projects centered on Indian philosophical, cultural, and scientific heritage.

Under this initiative, interns will gain practical exposure to various activities such as event coordination, media and documentation, research assistance, technical support, and report writing related to the Indian knowledge system.

Insights from the Nodal Officer

Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Nodal Officer of the Vidushi Arundhati Centre and Deputy Dean of Students’ Welfare, University of Delhi, shared that the students selected for the internship will contribute to the Centre’s academic and creative undertakings. “This internship is not merely a learning opportunity but a journey into India’s intellectual legacy. It will help students develop a deeper understanding of our cultural and scholarly traditions while enhancing their academic and professional skills,” he stated.

Selection Through Panel Discussion on November 14

The selection process for this internship will be conducted through a panel discussion (group discussion round) on November 14, 2025. The discussion aims to evaluate students’ interest, knowledge, and communication skills related to the themes of Indian knowledge systems.

Following the panel round, the final list of selected interns will be announced, and the participants will be formally associated with the Centre for the January–June 2026 internship period.

Recognition and Certification

Upon successful completion of the internship, students will receive a Certificate of Appreciation and an Internship Completion Certificate, jointly issued by the Vidushi Arundhati Bharatiya Gyan-Parapara Kendra (Maitreyi College) and the Council of Indic Studies and Research.

At present, this opportunity is exclusively open to Maitreyi College students, highlighting the institution’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and empowering young women through initiatives rooted in India’s intellectual traditions.
