BPSC AEDO Exam New Date 2026: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the revised examination dates for the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) recruitment examination. Candidates who have applied for this prestigious recruitment can now take note that the BPSC AEDO examination will be conducted in April 2026. As per the latest notification released by the commission, the examination will be organized in three different phases across multiple days.

BPSC AEDO Exam Schedule 2026

According to the updated examination calendar, the BPSC AEDO competitive examination will now take place from April 14, 2026, to April 21, 2026. The commission has divided the exam into three phases to ensure smooth conduct due to the large number of candidates appearing for the test.

  • First Phase: April 14 and April 15, 2026
  • Second Phase: April 17 and April 18, 2026
  • Third Phase: April 20 and April 21, 2026

Earlier, the Assistant Education Development Officer recruitment examination was scheduled to be held between January 10 and January 16, 2026. However, due to unavoidable administrative reasons, the commission decided to postpone the examination. After careful consideration, BPSC has now released the revised dates, providing candidates with additional time to prepare.

Nearly 9.8 Lakh Candidates to Appear

As per information shared by the Bihar Public Service Commission, around 9.8 lakh registered candidates are expected to appear for the BPSC AEDO recruitment examination. Due to such a massive number of applicants, this exam is considered one of the largest competitive examinations conducted in the state. The postponement from January to April has brought relief to many aspirants who were seeking extra preparation time.

Revised Exam Dates: April 14 to April 21, 2026

BPSC AEDO Vacancy Details 2026: Category-wise Posts

Under this recruitment drive, a total of 935 Assistant Education Development Officer posts will be filled. The commission has released category-wise vacancy details to ensure transparency in the recruitment process.

  • Unreserved (UR): 374 posts
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 93 posts
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 150 posts
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 10 posts
  • Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 168 posts
  • Backward Class (BC): 112 posts
  • Backward Class Women: 28 posts

Candidates selected for the post of Assistant Education Development Officer will be appointed under Pay Level–5, with a monthly salary of Rs. 29,200, along with other admissible allowances as per government norms.

BPSC AEDO Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the BPSC AEDO recruitment will be conducted entirely through a written examination. There will be no interview stage, making the written test the sole deciding factor for selection.

The examination will be objective in nature and will include negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one-third (1/3) mark will be deducted.

The written examination will consist of three separate papers, each designed to assess different skills of the candidates.
