GPSC Recruitment 2025: Notification Released for 128 Gujarat Education Service Class-II Posts — Apply Before the Last Date

The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has officially announced a major recruitment drive for 128 vacancies in the Gujarat Education Service, Class-II (Administrative Branch). According to the notification, the recruitment process will be carried out in two phases, and eligible candidates can now apply online through the official portal. Interested applicants are advised to submit their forms before the closing date mentioned on the website.

GPSC Vacancy 2025 Overview

The newly released notification provides complete details regarding eligibility, selection procedure, examination pattern, and pay scale for the advertised posts. The online application window is currently active, allowing candidates to complete their registration smoothly. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 128 posts, offering a significant opportunity for individuals aspiring to work in the Gujarat Education Service.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for GPSC Education Service Class-II posts, candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualifications and professional requirements:

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • They must also possess a recognized qualification in teaching or education, such as B.Ed., M.Ed., or an equivalent degree approved by the government.
  • All educational qualifications must be obtained from universities established under a Central/State Act or institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

In addition to educational qualifications, candidates are required to have a minimum of five years of experience in the education sector. This experience may be in teaching or administrative roles and must be acquired in government institutions, local bodies, universities, or approved private/self-financed educational organizations.

Examination Pattern

The GPSC selection process includes two stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Interview

The preliminary exam serves as the first level of shortlisting. Candidates who score less than 15% in the preliminary exam will not be considered for the interview round. The examination will be conducted by the Commission, typically in Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad, and candidates must attend the exam at their own expense.

The preliminary test will include 300 objective-type questions, with the exam divided as follows:

  • General Studies: 100 questions, 100 marks — Duration: 60 minutes
  • Subject-Specific Section: 200 questions, 200 marks — Duration: 120 minutes

Candidates who clear the preliminary stage with the required score will be called for the final interview, where their suitability for the administrative role will be assessed.

Application Fee

  • General/Unreserved Category: ₹100
  • Reserved Category Candidates of Gujarat, including EWS, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen, are exempted from paying the fee.
    All candidates must submit their applications online only, as no offline forms will be accepted.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed under the Gujarat Education Service Class-II, which falls under Level-8 of the pay matrix. The salary ranges from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month, along with additional allowances and benefits as per government norms.
