Israel Bus Explosions: Three Blasts in Bat Yam, Netanyahu Calls It a Terrorist Attack
Israeli buses were rocked by three consecutive explosions in Bat Yam on Thursday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has labeled the incident a terrorist attack.
Police Confirm Terror Suspicions
Authorities reported multiple bus explosions at different locations. “Initial reports suggest a suspected terrorist attack,” police said. Three bombs exploded on parked buses, while two more were safely defused. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Explosives Recovered from Other Buses
Police recovered explosives from two additional buses, all equipped with timers. Bomb squads worked to neutralize the threats. Bat Yam’s Mayor, Tzivka Brot, called it a “miracle” that no one was harmed, as the buses had already completed their routes.
Netanyahu Monitoring the Situation
The Israeli Prime Minister is closely following developments and receiving updates from his military team. The Shin Bet security agency has launched an investigation into the attack.
Link to West Bank Explosives?
Police spokesperson Haim Sargrof stated that the bombs were similar to those used in the West Bank. However, he did not provide further details. Investigators are working to determine if a single perpetrator was responsible or if multiple attackers were involved.
No Group Claims Responsibility Yet
So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack. Since Hamas’s October 7, 2023, assault on Israel, the Israeli military has been targeting suspected militants in the West Bank. A group linked to Hamas’s Qassam Brigades issued a statement on Telegram, vowing revenge, but did not directly claim responsibility for the bus bombings.
