MP to Fill 20000 Police Posts; Unified UPSC-Style Exam for Govt Jobs Announced: CM Yadav
MP to Fill 20000 Police Posts: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced two major initiatives for the youth of the state. The government plans to fill 20000 police posts within the next three years and introduce a unified, UPSC-style examination system for all government job recruitments.
The announcement was made during the State Employees Union’s Diwali Milan event in Bhopal. CM Yadav said these steps aim to provide better job opportunities for aspiring candidates and ensure a more transparent recruitment process. He also highlighted that the government is working to improve issues related to salary gaps, promotions, DA, and pensions.

According to the Chief Minister, 20,000 new appointments will strengthen the Madhya Pradesh Police and improve law and order ahead of Simhastha Kumbh 2028.
A Police Recruitment Board will be set up to manage these recruitments starting in 2026, while the Staff Selection Board (ESB) will oversee the 2025 hiring round.
Recruitments — from constable to sub-inspector — will be done through computer-based exams and online applications, ensuring fairness and transparency in the process.
UPSC-Like Unified Exam System
Dr. Yadav also announced a single, unified examination system for all state government departments, similar to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) model.
Under this new structure, candidates will appear for a common preliminary exam, followed by department-specific main exams and interviews. This will simplify the process for students who currently have to prepare for multiple exams conducted by different departments like Education, Health, Police, and MPPSC.
The unified exam board is expected to be operational by 2026, with a high-level committee already being formed to design its framework. CM Yadav said the reform will save candidates time, reduce delays, and bring greater efficiency and transparency to government recruitment in Madhya Pradesh.
