JSSC Excise Constable Result: 1.48 Lakh Candidates Clear PET — Written Exam Expected Soon
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has officially released the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) results for the Excise Constable recruitment. This major announcement has brought relief to lakhs of aspirants who were waiting for the outcome of the physical test.
According to the notification, 1,48,054 candidates have successfully qualified the PET stage. These candidates are now eligible to appear for the next round of the recruitment process — the written examination. Let’s take a detailed look at what happens next and when the exam might be held.
PET Results Declared, Some Results Withheld
Along with the publication of the PET-qualified list, JSSC has also notified that the results of 84 candidates have been kept on hold. The reason behind this is pending verification related to biometric mismatches and other technical discrepancies.
These candidates have been given time until December 12 to submit their documents and claims. After this deadline, JSSC will review submissions and may update the report accordingly.
When Will the Written Exam Be Conducted?
Lakhs of candidates were awaiting the physical test results, especially since the recruitment process had been delayed multiple times. JSSC has now confirmed that the written examination will be conducted within 90 days from the announcement of the PET results.
Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official JSSC website to stay updated with exam dates, admit cards, and further notifications.
Physical Test Held Amid Challenges
The PET was conducted between August 22 and September 29, 2024. The physical round witnessed severe challenges, including unfortunate cases where nearly a dozen candidates lost their lives while completing the race due to stringent standards.
Following these incidents, the Jharkhand government revised and simplified the physical test norms to ensure candidate safety.
JSSC Excise Constable Selection Process: Three-Stage Recruitment
The Excise Constable recruitment process consists of three key stages:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Written Examination
- Medical Test
It is important to note that marks obtained in the PET will not be counted in the final merit list. The PET is purely qualifying in nature — candidates simply need to pass to move to the next stage.
583 Vacancies to Be Filled: Category-Wise Breakdown
The JSSC recruitment drive aims to fill 583 posts under the Jharkhand Excise and Prohibition Department. The vacancy distribution is as follows:
- Unreserved (UR): 237 posts
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 148 posts
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 57 posts
- OBC–I: 50 posts
- OBC–II: 32 posts
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 59 posts
With more than 1.48 lakh candidates qualifying the PET for just 583 vacancies, the competition for the written exam is expected to be extremely intense.
Conclusion
The announcement of the PET results marks a key milestone in the Excise Constable recruitment process. As candidates prepare for the written examination, staying updated through the official portal and maintaining consistent exam preparation will be essential. With such high competition, focused study and timely revision will play a major role in securing a position.
