Imran Khan’s Sister Accuses Asim Munir of Dictatorship, Says Shahbaz Sharif Has Already Failed

Imran Khan’s sister has made a strong and serious allegation, stating that “Asim Munir is acting like a dictator in Pakistan, and Shahbaz Sharif has already lost control.” She said that Pakistan has seen dictators in the past, and none of them met a good end. According to her, the same fate awaits those who continue to “oppress, suppress, and silence the people.”

Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan remains a major global topic of discussion as he continues to serve his sentence in Lahore’s Adiala Jail. His family has repeatedly claimed that they have been denied access to meet him for several weeks. In protest, Imran Khan’s sisters even demonstrated outside the jail, demanding transparency and the right to meet their brother.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Imran Khan’s sister Noorin Niazi said that Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir is currently the most powerful force in the country, overshadowing the civilian government. She added that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has “lost the political battle” and is only holding office because of Munir’s support.

“People must stand up and claim their rights”

When asked whether the family would seek international intervention for Imran Khan’s release, Noorin Niazi stated that the real power lies with the people of Pakistan.
She said, “I believe the people of this country must rise and take their rights. No one from outside will save us. External involvement only harmed Pakistan in the past. Imran Khan’s government was removed using the cipher case, and even then, foreign leaders like former US President Donald Trump praised General Asim Munir as a ‘good friend.’”

Accusing Asim Munir of absolute control

Noorin further alleged that Asim Munir is acting like a complete dictator, claiming that he controls the political landscape.
She said, “Asim Munir is the biggest force in Pakistan today. Shahbaz Sharif may hold the title of Prime Minister, but he has no real power. He remains in office only because of Asim Munir.”

She appealed to overseas Pakistanis to raise their voices, write against the ongoing injustice, and make the world aware of the “rapidly deteriorating condition of Pakistan and the suffering of its citizens.”

Noorin concluded by reiterating that dictators in Pakistan have never succeeded in the long run.
“History shows that dictators come to power, but none of them had a good fate. The same will happen again. How long will these people continue to crush and silence the public?”
